Glastonbury Festival announce first wave of acts
GLASTONBURY Festival for Contemporary Performing Arts has announced the first batch of artists to play this year’s festival.
As already announced, Foo Fighters and Kanye West will headline the Friday and Saturday nights respectively, but the Sunday headliner remains a mystery, with the festival currently billing them as ‘special guests’.
Elsewhere on the bill, Florence and the Machine, Pharrell Williams and Alt-J will all be playing high up, with appearances from Motorhead, Lionel Richie and Mary J. Blige.
Further down the list, acts such as Charli XCX, Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers, rap duo Run the Jewels, The Vaccines, The Fall and Franz Ferdinand and Sparks collaborative group F.F.S. will all play. Not forgetting old favourites The Chemical Brothers, Belle and Sebastian and Patti Smith.
