First trailer for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ released
SENSATIONALIST erotica fans rejoice! The first trailer for the much anticipated adaptation of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey has been released to audiences worldwide. The novel, written by E L James and originally published as X-Rated fan fiction of another popular book series, took the literary world by storm following its 2011 release and finally made it acceptable for readers worldwide to consume their hardcore pornography while commuting to work. The inevitable adaptation has been in the works for quite some time, with such esteemed talents as Ryan Gosling, Charlie Hunnam and even Bret Easton Ellis reportedly showing interest in being part of the saucy behemoth.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the first meeting of the reassuringly non-threatening “Ana” Steele (Dakota Johnson) and the enigmatic, eponymous Mr. Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). It’s a fairly standard affair, showing the meeting of the (presumably) eventual couple and some of the softer parts of their sensual fling – dodging, it would seem, the nipple clamps and bondage gear in favour of a green-band, allowing this story about bondage to reach the maximum amount of prospective audience members.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be opening in both the US and the UK on Valentine’s Day weekend 2015, because nothing says “I love you” to a significant other like a date-night to watch some mainstream sanctioned BDSM. And they say romance is dead.
